Jeffrey Dahmer was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was a homosexual, necrophiliac and cannibal who murdered approximately 17 boys in the throughout the 80's early 90's. Dahmer was an alcholic with extremely low self-esteem. He was molested by a neighbor as a young boy which, may explain his pyschotic behavior. Dahmer began collecting dead animal bodies at a very young age which eventually evolved into necrophilia. Dahmer joined the Army in the 80's before being released for fondeling a thirteen-year-old boy. The majority of his victims were African-American homosexual males. His motive was a totally compliant, sexual slave. His victims were dismembered and occasionaly eaten by Dahmer. Officials found the remains of 11 bodies in Dahmer's apartment. Most of the corpses were decaying in acid in his basement. Others were stuffed in the freezer ready to be eaten. All of his victims skulls were found in the closet or mounted on his wall. Dahmer was discovered after one of his victims escaped his apartment. Dahmer plead not guilty by way of insanity but, his plea was denied. Dahmer was sentenced to 15-consecutive-life-sentences. He was murdered in prison by Christopher Scarver who beat Dahmer, and fellow inmate Jesse Anderson, with a broom stick while the three were on work duty in the prison's kitchen. Scarver claimed that he was the son of God. He claimed God told him to murder Dahmer and Anderson. His motives were believed to have been race related.

The Ripper Crew, lead by Robin Gecht, murdered 18 women during the late 70's. The cult consisted of four members: Gecht, Edward Sprietzer, Andrew and Thomas Kokoraleis. The group was a cult that believed they had to murder those who were evil. The majority of their victims were women. Most of the victims were known postitutes. One of the women's breast were removed and eaten by the four men while Gecht read passages from the Bible. In 1982 all members of the group were arrested and questioned for the death of a prostitute. The men all told on each other. All were arrested except Gecht who could not be arrested due to lack of evidence. Gecht is currently serving 120 years for the murder and mutilation of yet another prostitute. His three accomplices were all sentenced to death. All three have since met their doom via lethal injection. Gecht's son David and two accomplices were charged with the gang-related shooting death of a man in March of 1999.

Earl Frederick was a Earl Frederick was a Vietnam Veteran who was sentenced first in 1992 and again in 1998 after murdering approximately sixteen people. His first victim is believed to be his friend and landlord Bradford Beck. Beck befriended Frederick while in the Vietnam war. Beck was found dead and stripped naked in a field in Oaklahoma. Frederick went on to murder an elderly lady during a robbery. The woman was shot at close range with a shotgun. Frederick was arrested in Texas wearing Bradford Beck's clothing. He admitted to killing approximately 16 people. Frederick explained that he had multiple personalities. He explained that one of his personas, Jeff, made him commit the murders. Frederick was one of the first killers to show compasion stating, "Mere words cannot begin to express the sorrow I feel over my actions."

Norman Afzal Simons
Norman Afzal Simons is yet another South African serial killer. Simons is believed to be the “Station Strangler” who lured young boys away from train stations in and around Cape Town, South Africa during the late 80s to early 90s. Simons was a gay man employed as a school teacher in South Africa. All of his victims were boys of mixed race. Approximately 21 boys were found in shallow graves around Cape Town. Simons claimed the spirit of his own dead brother was inside of him. He stated that he heard voices that told him to kill to kill young boys. One of his victims, Elroy, was found dead ten days after he turned up missing. Simons could only be linked to this one murder so he was sentenced to twenty-five years in prison in 1994. That’s not too bad for a man who averaged over two murders for almost a decade.
Moses Sithole
Moses Sithole is believed to have been the “Atteridgeville Strangler” who murdered approximately 50 women and children in the Pretoria/Johannesburg areas of South Africa. Most of the women were black females who had been sexually assaulted before they were killed. Sithole had a total of six aliases by the time he was captured in 1995, which put an end to his two-year murder spree. Sithole did not go down without a fight though; he was shot and wounded while wielding an axe at authorities during a standoff. Various authorities believed that Sithole as accompanied by David Selepe who was also convicted for murdering over a dozen black women in the same area. Sithole was charged with the murders of 51 people. Approxiamtely 15 of those murders were children between the ages of 4 and 8. Sithole was convicted and sentenced to 2410 years in prison.
Elizabeth Bathory

A distant family member of the real Count Dracula,
Elizabeth Bathory was a member of the royal family who enjoyed bathing in blood. She was royalty in Hungary during the late 1500s. Her "blood-baths" were designed to fight the aging process. The blood of approximatly 600 little girls was spilled under Bathory's orders. Many people got wind of her sick practices and began to speculate. Finally in 1916, officials stormed her home, Castle Csjethe, and witnessed one of her treatments being taking place. All of her assistants were burned and she was sentenced to life behind the walls of her own castle. Nobility was not punished as harshly as other members of society. Bathory died on August 16, 1914 in the comfort of her own home.
Jerry Brudos
Jerry Brudos developed a foot fetish at the age of nine. He began stealing women’s shoes while other children were studying their ABCs. At age 17 Brudos spent nine months in a mental hospital for forcing a teenage girl to undress at knife points. Brudos graduated from high school and eventually married. Brudos would illegibly make his wife parade around naked and fulfill his sexual fantasies. In January of ’68, Brudos began his murder spree by killing Linda Slawson in his garage. Her foot was severed and put in his freezer as a trophy. His next victim, Jan Whitney would also be murdered in his garage. Her right breast severed by Brudos who attempted to make a mold with the body part. The bodies of Linda Salee and Karen Spinker would also turn up in a nearby river. Both of the women’s breasts had also been severed. All of the victims showed signs of necrophilia and mutilation. Brudos would eventually be caught and sentenced to life in prison, after confessing to all four murders.
Cary Stayner
Cary Stayner was diagnosed with trichotillomania at age three which caused him to repeatedly pull his hair out. He was one of five children born to a Mormon home. In 1972, his brother Steve was kidnapped and sexually assaulted for approximately seven years before he escaped from his kidnapper. Cary Stayner appeared to be aggravated and jealous of the media attention his brother received. In 1999, four people would be viciously murdered in the Yosemite area. Carole Sund, her daughter Juli and her daughter’s friend, Silvina Pelosso, all turned up missing. Eventually their car would turn up with two of the victims stuffed in the trunk. Juli decomposed body would eventually be found nearby. Stayner was questioned, but he was not considered a witness in the case. All three were sexually assaulted. Cary’s and Silvina’s throats were slashed and Juli was found decapitated. While the policed looked for a suspect, another victim turned up. Twenty-six-year-old Joie Armstrong was found decapitated a few months later. Stayner was now a suspect in the crimes. He was found at a local nudist colony where he quickly admitted to all four murders. Stayner would go on to admit that he has fantasized about killing women since age seven. Stayner was sentenced to death in death on December12, 2002 in a San Quentin prison.
Aileen Wournos

“I robbed them, and I killed them as cold as ice, and I would do it again, and I know I would kill another person because I've hated humans for a long time.”
Aileen Wournos, a product of a psychopathic father and a deadbeat mother, was adopted by her grandpartents and a very young age. Wournos’ mother left her and her brother whom she claimed she had sex before she was ten. She became a homeless streethooker early in her teens. Her killing spree allegedly began in 1989 after she was raped and assaulted by one of her “Johns.” Her victim, Richard Mallody, did have a prior record of sexual assault. Approximately seven months later, another victim’s nude corpse was found near a highway. Days later, Charles Carskaddon, age 40, was found robbed and murdered near Tampa. Approximately eight victims were murdered including a retired policeman and a missionary. All were shot and robbed of their belongings and their vehicles. Eventually the a media frenzy could be credited for her capture. Her girlfriend at the time, Tyria Moore, feared she would be suspected as an accomplice so she allowed the police to tap her conversations with Wournos. Wournos eventually confessed to killing six people. Her hateful demeanor in prison was also interesting. Wournos she claimed the police knew how to find here but they let her kill. She was eventually sentenced to death. Wournos died of lethal injection on October 9, 2002. There was a movie made about her story. The movie entitled
Monster released in 2003. it starred Charlize Theron who won an Academy Award for her performance.
William Lester Suff
William Lester Suff and his wife were convicted to life in prison for beating the two-month-old child to death in 1974. Suff was released on parole in 1986. Mysteriously, women began disappearing in Riverside County. Prostitutes would turn up missing for the next five years, some of them tortured and mutilated beyond recognition. Some of the victims had their breasts cut from their bodies. Many of the victims suffered from sexual trauma with various objects. Most died from multiple stab wounds, strangulation or suffocation. Approximately 25 to 30 women were found in Riverside until the early 90’s. A movie entitled “Roadside Justice” began shooting in the area in 1991. Dozens of stand-ins began traveled to Riverside for the film. Just as the filming began, another prostitute turned up dead in the area. Most of the women left the town immediately fearing for their lives. Finally, the police had a composite drawing to release to the public. William Suff was picked up on a routine traffic stop. Suff was convicted on twelve accounts of murder and sentenced to death. From his seat on death row in San Quentin, Suff released “Cat and Mouse: Mind Games With a Serial Killer,” a book full of Suff’s writings, poetry and award winning recipes.
Tommy Lynn Sells
Tommy Lynn Sells is one of the most brutal killers of all time. Sells has confessed to over ten murders all over the county. He was particularly fond of young girls. He also took extreme pleasure in multiple killings. Sells has been credited for murders in West Virginia, Missouri, Tennessee, Texas and many other states. Some of his victims were raped, stabbed and/or shot. Perhaps his most brutal instance was the multiple murders of an Illinois family in 1987. Sells said he shot the head of the household, Russell Dardeen, in the head and then beat his wife and three-year-old son with a baseball bat. The wife, pregnant at the time, gave birth to a premature baby during the beatings. The sadistic Sells simply turned his anger towards the newborn beating it beyond recognition also. Sells was given the death penalty for a crime he committed on a teenage girl in Del Rio, Texas. Presently awaiting his death, Sells continues to lead law enforcement to more victims. He has lead police to the bodies of approximately six victims while awaiting his death in a Texas penitentiary.
Robert Yates

"Hundreds of people are hurting and grieving because of my actions."
Robert Yates, a former member of the U.S. Army murdered an unknown number of women. A father of five, Yates was seen as the typical family by all that knew him. He was convicted to 408 years in prison, on October 26, 2000, after admitting to thirteen accounts of murder and one account of aggravated assault. Most of the murders were committed in the Spokane, Washington. All of his victims were shot after he had engaged in sexual intercourse with the women. He would then dispose of his victims in rural areas. All of his victims had plastic bags covering their heads. Yates even gave police directions to the remains of one of his victims which led them to his own backyard. Many of the victims were place in shallow graves that were covered with dirt. Police are still trying to link Yates to murders that he may have committed while traveling in the Army. He is also set to stand trial for the murders of two more women in Pierce County, Washington and Dale County, Alabama are building cases against Yates also in which they will seek the death penalty. Germany, Vancouver, Oregon and others have also been looking to link Yates to various unsolved murders.
Joe Ball
Joe Ball was a member of a wealthy family in Texas. Instead of staying in the family business, Ball opened up a restaurant called the Social Inn. Behind the bar was an exhibit with five real alligators. Ball caught the reptiles and built a pond for them as a publicity stunt. For entertainment, his customers could witness the alligators being fed cats, dogs and other live animals. Some of Ball’s female employees began mysteriously disappearing. Ball also had two wives that ended up vanishing also. The rumor was that Ball was dismembering the women and feeding them to the gators. The rumor was not taken seriously until a neighbor complained of a fowl stench that was coming from Ball’s residence. The police questioned Ball who immediately shot himself in the heart in front of the officers. They searched the premises and found dismembered body parts in a barrel next to the gator pit. They also found two of Ball’s victims buried in the backyard also. No evidence was ever found that proved that Ball fed his victims to the alligators although another neighbor claims to have seen Ball feed the beasts human remains. An employee of Ball’s, Clifford Wheeler, admitted that he helped Ball dispose of many of his victims because he feared for his life. Wheeler served three years for his involvement with the murders. Wheeler concludes that Ball claimed at least twenty lives before he committed suicide.
Rudy Bladel
Rudy Bladel was dubbed “The Railway Sniper” for his string of shooting throughout the mid 60’s and 70’s. Bladel, a disgruntled former railway employee, gunned down many of his former co-workers after he was laid off from the railway. Bladel had a love for trains his whole life since his dad was also a railway employee. Approximately eight victims were claimed with the murders being spaced about apart. Bladel even served eighteen months in prison after one of his murder attempts failed. Amazingly, Bladel could not be positively linked to the other murders. Once he was let go, more employees turned up dead in and around the state of Indiana. Bladel was now the number one suspect due to his criminal history. He was then arrested after purchasing a firearm while under police custody. Not to mention the fact that ex-cons are prevented from owning firearms. The bullet pattern from the gun matched that of bullets found at the murder scene. He pled guilty and received three consecutive life sentences. He took the decision all the way to the Supreme Court claiming that he was coaxed into pleading guilty without representation of a lawyer. The decision was over turned but there would be another trial in which Bladel was found guilty and sentenced to three consecutive life terms.
Paul Bernardo

Interestingly enough, Canada's most famous serial killer,
Paul Bernardo was only convicted of three murders. Bernardo is also a suspect in many rapes and murders in Scarborough, Ontario. He is also speculated to be the "Scarborough Rapist". Bernardo committed the murders with the assistance of his wife, Karla Homolka. His first victim was murdered, raped and dismembered and disposed of in Lake Gibson. His second victim, Kristen French, was also raped and murdered. Homolka assisted in some way but, the extent of her involvement is unknown. Homolka got her hands dirty when she drugged her younger sister, Tammy, and offered the girl to Bernardo as a gift. Tammy was drugged with animal tranquilizer which caused her to choke on her on vomit and die. Bernardo began to abuse Karla so she left him and agreed to testify against Bernardo in his criminal trial. Bernardo claimed that the deaths were Karla’s fault but that was never proven to be true. She was sentenced to a short prison term but, Bernardo was sentenced to life in prison, without the possibility of parole. A movie entitled "Karla" is slated to come out sometime this year that will chronicle their deadly deeds.
Kenneth Bianci
Kenneth Bianci, also known as one half of the infamous
“Hillside Stanglers”, murdered approximately ten women between late 1977 and early 1978. His string of murders was committed in the hills just above Los Angeles. Bianci and his accomplice would pose as police or stranded travelers to trap their victims. They would sometimes present fake badges which would persuade prostitutes to get in the vehicle. All of his victims were women ranging from ages 16 to 28. All of the victims showed signs of rape, and some even showed signs of being tortured. When Bianci was arrested, he claimed that he was insane and that he had an evil alternate personality named Steve Walker. Bianci claimed that “Steve” was responsible for the murders. He went on trial to testify against his accomplice and cousin, Angelo Buono. While on trial, inconsistencies in “Steve” allowed doctors to prove that Bianci was lying about his schizophrenia. Bianci was spared the death penalty along with his accomplice. Bianci currently sits in a Washington State prison serving a life sentence.
Anatoly Onoprienko

"I love all people and I loved those I killed. I looked those children I murdered in the eyes and knew that it had to be done,."
Anatoly Onoprienko was arrested in 1996 ending Ukraine’s most deadly killing spree. He would first be charged with eight murders before he confessed to being “The Terminator”, a cold-blooded murder who had claimed over 40 other victims. He said he had received “secret permission” from “inner voices” which told him to kill. There were no sexual deviances to be found in this Onoprienko’s motives. Over a five to seven year span, Onoprienko would pick families who lived far away from the local towns. He would shoot everyone inside, including any children, with a shotgun at point-blank range. He would then go on to murder anyone who may have caught a glimpse from his as he hurried away. At one point, the Ukrainian government sent troops in to patrol the streets of a local village that had seen their citizens fall victim to “The Terminator”. He was spotted with the shotgun and various belongings of his victims. Ukrainian government considered him insane which carries a sentence of life in prison. The public outcry was so great that they overlooked this law and sentenced Onoprienko to death. Onoprienko did not improve his chances by stating that if he was released, he would kill even more people than before.
